Marry a Japanese

Ever considered to marry a Japanese? A recent Government Study was conducted on the subject of Japanese Nationals getting married with foreigners, and the results were shocking. At least they were to me and probably to many of you also. In a society that is for the most part pure, meaning not many mixed race people, compared to places such as the US or the UK.
The study concluded that 1 in every 30 babies born in Japan now have at least one parent originating from overseas. The study was conducted by the Health Labor and Welfare Ministry and reported that 1.1 million babies are born in Japan in 2006, the mother father or both parents of 35,651 of them were from other countries than Japan.
19,000 of the babies had non Japanese fathers and 26,000 had non Japanese mothers. North and South Korean nationals formed the largest group among non- Japanese fathers, followed by Chinese and Brazilians. Among the non- Japanese mothers, Chinese formed the largest group, followed by Filipinas, and North and South Koreans.
There is no doubt that here’s been an overwhelming increase in Japanese females in their 20s and 30s marrying European and American males. This has increased by more than tenfold over the previous five years. If it is your desire to Marry a Japanese, then the odds are swaying in your favor as time passes.
Most of these marriages are taking place on the main island of Japan, and mixed marriages are still rare here on the far north island of Hokkaido, although I have seen mixed families on my journeys into town and at some stores. When I lived in Tokyo it was very common to see foreigners dating Japanese, although I recommend that you study up on the way Japanese think before pursuing a relationship. Trust me, I learned the hard way, and there was a lot of cultural differences that caused many problems in the beginning. A good book that I know about this subject is Marry a Japanese.
I have no thought on the subject personally. People are people whether they are Japanese, American,Chinese, Korean, African, or whatever. If two people fall in love, race seems not to matter much. Yes you will probably get some stares, and if this bothers you, then maybe a mixed marriage is not your cup of tea. I’m used to being stared at, and it doesn’t bother me at all, actually it is pretty funny many of the times. I have had people, mostly younger just stop in their tracks and gawk. This is a good time to hit them with some English and say Hi.
