The Great Masquerade

The Great Masquerade is upon us, and one of my favorite holidays.  It is the time when the walls between the world of the living and the world of the dead are there thinest.  This Celtic Festival was known as Samhain and was related to the movements of the stars and planets, it symbolized the harvest season and the end of summer.  The next day would be the start of winter.  A time of year that is closely associated with death.

Halloween has now come to be known as a fun night of trick or treating or parties, personally my kids loved dressing up in halloween costumes and going door to door collecting enough candy to last for an entire year.  While us Adults enjoy going to Halloween parties in risque costumes and drinking and hanging out with friends.
