Back to School Time
It’s that time of the year when most kids are excited to start off the school year. You know how you can tell that the length of the summer vacation in America is too long?… Give up?…. When the kids are anxious to get back to school. It was the same when I was in school also. Ok let’s wax nostalgic for a little while.
When I was going to school I remember that my mom would buy us all new school clothes every year, I hated going shopping for clothes and trying on all of the tough skin jeans, or the granimals. I can hear the reader now thinking, what the heck is a granimal. I know I am dating myself but, granimals was a brand of clothes that had various little animal patches similar to the izod alligator (crocodile?), where if your shirt and your pants had the same animal on them, then the colors would match. Ahh the days of green pants and yellow striped shirts….
The 70’s was a unique time for fashion, and I am really putting it nicely. I have good memories though, getting back into the swing of school with new clothes, new shoes, new notebooks, pencils and erasers. And then loosing all of those items, except the clothes and shoes. Back then what would have been handy is a label maker, to put my name on everything to keep from loosing them. You could label your text books, pencil cases, backpack, gym clothes, whatever.
I remember sometimes the teacher would let us use her label maker, it was fun to us at the time turning that wheel with all of the letters on it and then pulling that trigger to punch the letter into the plastic strip with the white tape you pulled off of the sticky side.
Now days in this electronic age, label makers have come a long way, and now it’s as easy as typing on a small keyboard and then pushing a button, printing out the label ready to stick on something. Also you are not limited like you used to be with one color of labels, now there a wide selection of Color labels to choose from.  Dynamo makes a wide variety of label makers that are handy at cataloging items and putting there rightful owners names on them. There are models for the home, and business.
It would have been nice when I was a kid to have a label maker such as the ones that Dynamo makes, in fact I could have made some extra money at the time by making labels for people and selling them.  Hope all of you with children have fun this year with school activities, remember, get involved with your kids school if at all possible, if your children see that you have a interest in school, then they will also. Take Care all.

Label makers these day are truely amazing.
The one we got for our classroom a few months ago does English and Japanese script in all shapes and sizes.
Not to mention the rainbow of color labels to choose from.
