In the past I have not made it a secret that I do freelance writing and marketing on the Internet, I don’t speak of it much on this site because I like to keep a separation from my marketing sites and Charles Hamel.com.  But sometimes the two cross paths but it is very in-frequently, We all know that there is enough make money sites on the Internet already.

Sometimes I get the occasional question asking me what I do as far as marketing goes, and I thought that it might be a good idea for a post.  I am not going to go into detail about how I do it, but I will just give you an overview of some of the things that I do.  For one I do freelance writing, and what that means is some people will pay me to create articles for them, now let me tell you, you are not going to get rich doing it for sure, but it does bring a little extra income in to the bank account.

If you are the type of person who likes to write, then maybe this is something that you might be interested in, just search on Google or your favorite search engine for freelance authors and I am sure you will find many places to get started.  The other thing that I do is the marketing of other peoples products, affiliate marketing as some people like to call it.

It is very enjoyable to create web sites to me, I guess that is the creative spark, or the artistic point to my personality.  I create websites for other peoples products, and then drive traffic to them, and when someone buys something from a site I created, then I get a commission.  I have done very well in the past with this side of the Internet.  I find it a challenge to see something that I make grow into a money making vehicle.  One of my mottos, is that, if I have 100 sites that make a $1 a day, then I will be financially independent.

So Charles do you have 100 sites that make $1 a day?  Not yet!  But I work everyday to try and meet that goal.  Many people that are marketing on the Internet today have their own product to sell which is much more profitable than selling other people’s products.  If you have a hobby or a passion, then figure out a way to monetize it, and build on it until you are doing something that you love full time and making a full time income doing it.

Why go through life working hard to make others rich?  Work hard to make yourself rich!  That is the key!

Now one part of the business that you will have to consider when selling your own product is merchant services.  It is important to give your customers many different options to pay for your product.  There is paypal, check, or credit cards, with the latter being the most popular.  You will have to consider credit card processing and creating a plan on how to accept credit cards.
