Setting Dreams Into Motion
Are you guilty of sitting back and saying I wish this and I wish that, but not doing anything to set this wish in motion? I am! And I am sure there are many others that do it also. I know a person that always said, “I wish I could win the lottery”, but the funny thing is, he never bought a ticket.
Another outlook on this is the words “I wish”. If you continue to say “I wish”, then you will continue to wish, but never realize the wish coming to fruition. If we want things in life, we must do the footwork to set the things we want to come into being. It would have been easy for me in the Summer of 2006 to say, I would like to move to Japan, and then never take the steps to make it happen. If I just continued to say I would like to live in Japan, then to this day I would still be liking to live in Japan.
I didn’t continue to wish and say things along the lines of “I would like to”. I took the steps to make it happen, I started selling items that I owned first, taking the things I didn’t need but only wanted, and getting rid of them. Next I started researching all of the paperwork I would need to move myself my wife and 2 children. I put my house up for sale,
This is taking the steps to set your dreams into motion, Taking Action, and not just giving lip service. I think for many, they feel their dreams are not worth the hassle to achieve. They would rather choose the easier road and stay in their situation, and continue to wish. Why is it that we too often choose the road of least resistance, even though it would provide us with more happiness to make the change?
Some steps that we can take to Setting our Dreams into motion would be:
Determining what our true dreams and passions are. What is it exactly that would make you happy? Many people stop pursing their dreams when they get into a career. We have to realize that our job is a pre-occupation, while pursuing our dreams is our true occupation. What motivates you and makes you excited? Maybe limited imagination is what keeps many stagnant, breaking out of this type of thinking allows us to set the cosmic wheels in motion, into making our dreams happen
Once you determine your dreams, you will realize a course of action to take in achieving them. This is your assignment, and knowing what your assignment is, will be more important than anything else. By knowing what are assignment is to realize our dreams, it allows us to develop a plan.
What are you waiting for? Life is too short to keep putting it off! I always say that we are not promised a tomorrow, there is no time to wait in fulfilling our dreams, Start Right Now! We must live our lives in the Now! “Eckhart Tolle” speaks of this frequently. Many peoples problems is they are too busy living in the past or the future. Myles Munroe once said “The richest place in the world is the cemetery, because there are people there who died with books that were never written, songs that were never sung and companies that were never started”. We have to make commitments to make our dreams come true NOW!
We must change the way we think. We cannot experience greatness if we continue to think in the same way. Our old way of thinking is why we have been wishing but not doing. We have to get out of our ruts, elevate our thinking and break out of the old way of living life.
Ask yourself: Are my dreams worth it! Am I passionate enough about my dreams to set them in motion? If you answer YES! Then start today to make them happen. Take Care my friends.
