How to Attract Our Desires

A thing that is hard for us to accept when we are thinking of improving our lives, is that we are the cause of where our lives are at this moment in time. Often times we think that our life situations are the culmination of years and years worth of thoughts, emotions, and experiences, which is true. However when we reflect on our lives in those terms, we usually miss the fact that we were responsible for every single moment in our life, all the way to this current time.
Sometimes it may seem that there has been many people, circumstances and events in our lives that were out of control, although that is simply not the case. When we embrace the truth about the Law of Attraction, we must embrace the ENTIRE truth. The entire truth is that we attract all things into our lives, the good, the bad, and the in-different. Each person will have their own story of how this concept has manifested in their lives, but usually it follows three common concepts.
Relationships
This is the area most common where people attract exactly what they are looking for, but are very often blind to the fact that they have done so. I know it is a hard thing to swallow when we find ourselves in abusive relationships, to think that somehow that is what we wanted. It is difficult to believe that if our significant other has been unfaithful, that we somehow played a part in making it happen. It is hard to accept the fact that we cannot find the right person, because on some level we either didn’t really want to, or most commonly, we don’t even know who the right person is.
Career
This is a common area that most will relate to. How many times do we find ourselves in careers that we don’t enjoy, or are not getting everything out of it that we think we should. The complaints could be the fact that we do not like our job, or maybe we are not making enough money, or simply we do not get along with our co-workers. Whatever the issue is, on some level we are holding onto that situation, and are attracting the very things that we do not want in our professional lives.
Health
If we are unhealthy or overweight, many times it is because we believe that we are SUPPOSED to be that way, Maybe our family members were like that, so it is only proper to think that somehow that is our destiny also. On an energetic level we are sending out vibrations of I am sick, or that I weigh too much, or I am weak. It may also be that we think that we don’t deserve to live a long and healthy life. It could be that our self esteem is not where it should be.
Each of these situations have their own solutions, as far as how to stop attracting those things that we do not desire. But the bottom line is, and pay close attention to this statement; “The First Step is to Realize that WE are attracting what we do not want.” And for most people that is a hard pill to swallow.
Some steps in turning around these problems in our lives, after we realize that we are the root cause of them is to start changing our mindset. If we want a long term, successful relationship full of love and compassion, then we need to start expressing the same emotions to others, even to those that we have no interest in developing a relationship with.
If we desire a high paying dream job, then we need to start acting like an employee who deserves that type of job. If our life is lacking in health and fitness, we need to start eating healthy, exercising and thinking positive thoughts about ourselves, and then our bodies will respond and transform automatically as a result.
Lets all make a vow to stop complaining about the things that our Life is Not, and start becoming the person who deserves the kind of life that we desire, and before you know it… The Universe will present it to us. Take Care my friends.

Well said, Charlie.
I especially like the part about careers.
Whenever I hear someone say; “I hate my job.” I always ask them the same question. “Why don’t you just quit your job, and find another one?” The answer always comes back as; “I can’t quit because if I did, I couldn’t pay my bills.” This means that the person isn’t saving any money, and most likely has loans and/or credit card debt. Then I ask; “Why did you choose this job in the first place?” The answer is usually sometning like; “It was the first or best job offer I had at that time.” Makes sense. Until you realize that the person in question, went to that company to apply for the job in the first place! The company didn’t come to the person’s house and force them at gun point to sign an employment agreement. That person went to the company and applied for the job of their own free will. Yes, we really do attract what we want, even if it is just a steady salary, without any job satisfaction. The next time a person chooses a job or a career, they need to sit down with a pencil and paper, and write down all of the things that they like to do. Especially, the things that they like to do even if they didn’t get paid for it. Once that list is written out, the person needs to think about how they can make money, doing what it is that they really love to do. Once that happens, life becomes a dream come true. Everything a person wants can be theirs, but IF and only IF they take the time to THINK and Grow Rich.

Hi Charles.
From a very young age, human beings condition themselves to make complicated those things that are actually very simple. As we slowly peel away the layers of ourselves which we have constructed to protect us from our fears, we discover those layers of psychological protection and the fears themselves don’t really exit.
Best wishes,
Liara
i agree, we bring into our lives what we continually think about. This works in both ways, good and bad.
The Secret movie was an awesome example of how the law of attraction can summon the universal powers to manifest people situations and material things into your life.
All of the presenters had compelling stories that described in detail how their lives changed once they applied the secret principals.
I watched the movie several times only to discover the secret was never revealed nor did they explain how to actually make the law of attraction work in your favor.
I searched for a year and finally discovered exactly how the secret law of attraction works.
Anybody can put the principals to work for them and change their life dramatically in a short period of time.
It’s true, they are laws and they work all the time but its your choice to make the law of attraction work for you and not against you.

Hi. I just came upon your article, Charles, and for the most part, it certainly does make sense. However, this statement seemed a complete contradiction to me. The last couple of years of my life have been filled with people who I showed plenty of compassion and love to…and after they got everything they wanted out of me, they screwed me over royally. So please explain to me, and perhaps others confused by this statement of yours, why I should show unabashed love and compassion to people I want nothing to do with? Isn’t the point to move AWAY from these kinds of people, since they have been the very people who have made my life miserable? If I want better people in my life, then why invite those who I don’t want in it, in it?

In order to decide you wish to improve your life, you fist need to become aware that something about it doesn’t agree with you. As we evolve within ourselves, sometimes we realize friends and conditions are no longer compatible with how we have come to view ourselves. I like to think about it as not about gaining control but rather, learning to let go of outdated patterns, urges and situations that we have adopted based on our own illusions. As we let go of things that no longer seem to matter, from emotions and material objects and mindsets, we realize who we are is always there underneath it all. It merely takes time to remember what we have forgotten.
