Sticks and Stones will Break My Bones But Words

Words are so important, they actually bring ideas into this physical reality. Often the words that we continually repeat , often without thinking can act as a mantra and set into motion events that are not so desirable. How many times have we set goals, visualized the outcome, repeated our desired outcome only to not achieve what we set out to do. There are numerous causes that could have prevented us from reaching our goals, and many times that reason is words.
Every little sound that we utter sends out a vibration that sets the creation process in motion, with every sentence we speak, we are either improving or destroying our relationships, finances, or health. There is a story that I read a while back about this young lady who had developed an incurable disease of the eyes, and was beginning to loose her eyesight. Upon recommendation from some of her friends she went to an alternative medicine practitioner. In an interview of about 15 minutes with the woman the therapist stopped her and said: “Did you know that you have said “I hate to see” 15 times in the past 15 minutes”? The woman was shocked that she had used the words “I hate to see the way the world is headed”, “I hate to see how children are being treated in our schools”, I hate to see the decline of our churches”… Again and again she had used “I hate to see before the statements she had made. After changing her vocabulary, her medical condition had cleared up and the so called incurable disease had went away.
Another word to break the habit of saying is “I am sorry”, when you utter the words “I Am” whatever comes next will shape your future and Sorry is not a word that you need to keep saying. Replace sorry with I apologize. Your self esteem will instantly be raised by removing I’m sorry from your vocabulary. Another negative statement that is far to often uttered is “I am sick and tired”, replace that statement with “I feel _____”. I used to be real bad about saying “I am unlucky” and that was the reality I was creating for myself.
People do not realize how powerful their words can be in shaping their realities. Focusing our attention on the positive things can change so many of the undesirable aspects of our lives. Do not focus on aging, but replace that focus with health and youthfulness. It is so important for us to review our own affirmations and the words we say out loud or just to ourselves and see how POSITIVE we are actually being. It does make a huge difference! Take Care my friends.

That’s right Charlie.
If I can’t say something positive, I try not to say anything at all.

Loved it. “I’m sorry” attaches so much negativity to whatever comes next. I strive to eliminate those two words from my vocabulary along with “I can”t”. Words can hurt, words can confuse. I apologize, I understand, I won’t. all sponsor self-esteem without compromising the well being of others.

This is a very thought provoking post. I particularly like the first line about words bringing ideas into physical reality. I never quite thought of it that way but it is absolutely true. And what follows makes so much more sense when you think of words that way.
