Meditation For Busy People

Countless forms of meditation exist today. You have the ones that are difficult (and make you want to give up) and usually involve concentrating on something. Meditations of this nature are appropriate for people who have a lot of time on their hands and those who live less active, stress free lives (like monks and sages meditating on the high Himalayas). But in the real world the majority of us, stressed out people who alternate between job, family and various other activities need some easy meditation, learning how to keep our minds from jumping around without end (Veteran meditators call this a mind like a monkey).

We as humans tend to look for meaning behind everything. Therefore we need to trick the mind. This is done by using sound waves (mantras) which vibrate within us but the words have no meaning like AUM, or HU. So, it stops us from thinking and being monkey minded. This is the first step of transcendental meditation. Our minds move in a wave cycle, It thinks of many things and then comes back to the mantra. Then it goes back to many thoughts and then reverts to the mantra. It does this cycle after cycle but with every cycle the time that it stays with the mantra increases till a time comes when you are not on the mantra, not on other thoughts, but have transcended to be touched by, what some like to call call the super-consciousness. During this process we have penetrated through the waking, dreaming, sleeping and subconscious states of the mind and moved deeper into the super-conscious, even if it is for only a few minutes. It is in this final stage that energy transference takes place, but the mind is fully aware of the surroundings, sounds and actions taking place. It is as if we have literally plugged-in to energy fields outside of ourselves.

This state can be reached in many different ways. An avid golfer may reach these heights through his golf ball and return a 10 under and amaze himself. A football team suddenly starts playing with grace and beauty they have never dreamed of. Most scientists and inventors discover knowledge or that final critical link, when they are in this state. The knowledge has always been there – they simply got plugged in. In fact more than one scientist can simultaneously discover things sitting at different parts of the world. (Quantum entanglement). Good poetry is never taught, it flows into a poet in this state. Most creative activity takes place when a person enters this particular mental state, Plugging in to the Universe as I like to say.

Sound waves are not the only way to reach this state. You can also use light and visualization. So one has to experiment with what method gives the best results, but the end experience can be astounding and always wonderful. The belief in connectivity comes only when you have received a demonstration. I can set here and tell you about it all day, yet until you experience it for yourself most will not understand. We are all capable of making this connection, but anything that’s worth anything takes a little work to achieve. Take Care my friends!

  1. I myself have never seriously tried any type of meditation, until I slipped into IT naturally, when I began playing the soprano recorder. One which I bought for 100 yen at DaiSo. About 6 months after that, I bought a standard Yamaha Alto Recorder (plastic) and struggled with it for about one week, before I finally got a feel for it. Nowadays, I often play it when I have a spare moment. Playing a flute requires controled breathing and fine finger movements. It becomes easy to forget your physical body and rise up into the connection zone, of ALL THAT IS.

I don’t. Not that I can’t see the value of it.
I would need to discipline myself to do it, but

  4. I do Deb, but I have got into a bad habit of doing it at night time and falling asleep in the middle.

Not much benefit there, other than not having to take sleeping medicine. haha

I need to switch my time to the morning, so I will have better focus.

I truly appreciate it. I find it so difficult to get people to visit the site, with all of the millions of people on the Net you wouldn’t think it would be so difficult in finding readers. Although I have to take into consideration, how many blogs there are out there.

People like you who comment and Stumble upon, help tremendously, and I appreciate it so much.

Take Care and stop back by. :)

  9. I just stumbled onto this article – beautifully written! As a writer and spiritual teacher, I too refer to meditation and plugging-in:)In fact, I have a new book out called The Energy Cure that was originally titled, Plug-in and Charge… The publisher renamed it, but the message is still the same: We need to plug into life to live fully and to be full.

  13. Meditation is the purest form of relaxation and peace. In order to be in tune with your body’s vibrations, one needs to completely silence the outside world and the brain inside. It’s very hard to achieve, but once you involve yourself in pure meditation, it is a life changing experience.
