Attitude of Gratitude

Being grateful can bring more joy and happiness into our lives and can continuously attract more of the same. My family and I lately have been working a lot on looking at the “glass half full” rather than the “glass half empty”. When my sons see something they want (usually toys ). I try to bring them back to the present moment and have them look around at what they already have, and what they already have to be grateful for.

We play a little game called “What are you grateful for?” I usually start with ” I am so grateful for my family”, and then it is the next persons turn. I am so grateful for my life, I am so grateful for this roof over my head and my job and my friends, I am so grateful for World of Souls (I love it here so much), etc ” .

Usually by the end of our long lists we look around, totally grounded in who we are, and realize how very lucky we are at this very present moment. The present is a gift. We may long for other things, experiences in the future but the time is now, it’s time to celebrate our very present moment.

How fortunate we are to be living during this time where the pendulum is swinging from the dark to the Light, to Love, to Joy and we have the oppurtunity to soak up all this radiant light, to make a difference just by being Light in our everyday grateful, joyful, trusting, loving selves.

How grateful I AM!!!!!

What are you grateful for?

…when you awoke this morning…did you look around inside and outside…and **GIVE THANKS** for all of your Blessings? For every Beautiful thing around you and sometimes not so pretty…did you show gratitude for all of your blessings?

Did you thank the sun for shining JUST FOR YOU today? Did you thank the clouds for the show that they produced JUST FOR YOU? Did you thank your Garden for its Beauty? Sometimes we forget the very Blessings right there in front of our eyes, it is never too late to start living your life with an ***ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE***  Check out the Gratitude project!

Wherever you are…STOP…Look Around. All this finery, it is YOUR Finery. Tell the Universe THANK YOU! Thank you for all the blessings in my life. Hold your hands out to the sky and say THANK YOU. Thank others for what they do for you.

Make it a Habit to do this on a daily basis starting right now.

“May your troubles be less, your blessings more, and nothing but happiness comes through your door!”

I so much agree with your words! I actually wrote a page about being grateful at http://www.the-benefits-of-positive-thinking.com/being-thankful.html

Even more, I have found it fantastic to be thankful for what we so label as “negative” experiences - those moments with peaks of emotion, sadness and isolation. Those experiences help us in our growth as well, and so I am grateful for them too.

Thank you so much Cristina

I am grateful for your comment :)

I loved the post you made, and the baby’s hand holding the adults hand put a smile on my face. Truly we are all blessed to have the things we have and the standard of living we have.

It could be much much worse, so no more woe is me, be grateful that you are alive and well.

Take Care my friend!

This article is right on. Gratitude is great for your attitude! I’ve already written about it several times myself. Whenever I find myself feeling down, or sorry for myself, I can use gratitude to bring my attention back to all the wonderful things I enjoy about my life. It’s a great technique that hasn’t failed me yet.
