Beliefs

If you believe you can fly, you can!” But HOW do you believe something that you don’t? Forcing yourself to believe something is like forcing yourself to like broccoli when you don’t – it often has a reversed effect. In the end you’re more likely to end up hating broccoli because you’ve been force-fed it.
You can visualize the belief you want, listening to audio recordings that repeat it over and over. You can be hypnotized or hypnotize yourself – “BELIEVE!” You can convince yourself that you believe. Yet all of this is shallow. When the universe grants your wishes, it always looks at your deepest wish – the belief beneath the belief. The universe sees that what you really believe is that you can’t fly, which is why you’re hypnotizing and programming yourself! The result: You can’t fly.
Yet there is a way to cultivate belief. This is what the quest for truth is all about. Belief is your natural response to truth. It is what you do when you know something to be true – you believe. It doesn’t need to be forced or programmed. To cultivate belief, one merely opens oneself to truth.
We’re in luck, because most of the things we want to believe are true. In fact, you can fly. In fact, you can move 5th-dimensionally. In fact, you can will miracles into being. This is all the truth of who and what we are. All we need to do to open ourselves to all of this magic, to believe, is to become deeply aware of the truth of ourselves. So HOW does one perceive truth? There are many tools to open oneself to truth. One of these is to cultivate an open mind. Your heart is the gateway to your soul, and your mind is the valve. When you open your mind, when you are open-minded, the truth flows from your soul, through your heart, into your being. Mostly, having an open mind is an act of will – it is a simple choice. Is that your wish? To be open-minded? Then you will be.
Once the will is there, you can also facilitate this opening by reading books of a mind-expanding nature, on mind-expanding topics. Have discussions about other-worldly things, challenging your prior programming, even if it makes you uncomfortable. Let your imagination grow and play. Add to your mental vocabulary. All of these things help to open the mind.
