Cocoon

Had some thoughts running through my head today about our spiritual journeys in life. A good analogy is that our existence in the physical form is somewhat like being in a cocoon. Birth after death, after birth after death, we exist in this cosmic cocoon, forming, developing, learning.
And on that day when all knowing, all experienced, all enlightened our light bodies emerge out of the cocoon and spread our glorious wings to become a permanent part of the god consciousness.
We already have the deep down knowing of where we come from and where we must return, although many have lost sight of this to the point of denying it’s existence or validity. But that is ok, that doesn’t mean we are better or worse, It simply means that they possible will have a longer journey ahead.
Krishna taught it; Plato believed in it; the Buddha revised it; Augustine considered it; Emerson wrote about it; Freud rejected it; Tolstoy was passionate about it; Sagan was curious about it. All of these great minds were fascinated, entranced, or troubled by one powerful idea: reincarnation.
Today, across the world, there is a broader transformation occurring in the way we look at life after death, a transformation that is perhaps most obvious in the extraordinary amount of cultural attention dedicated to the subject of our afterlife.
There is documented proof of children telling their parents “when you die, you don’t go right to heaven. You go to different levels—here, then here, then here,” moving his hand up as he referred to each level. And there is the four-year-old girl who told her family one day at the dinner table that “when you go to heaven, you have a little time to rest, kind of like a vacation, but then you have to get to work. You have to start thinking about what you have to learn in your next life. You have to start picking out your next family. . . . Heaven isn’t just a place to hang around forever. . . You have work to do there.”
Some speak of other planets, other realms; some remember seeing a light, going toward it, and then being reborn; some remember going through a tunnel and then “meeting God”; some talk about time spent in “heaven” and describe their activities while there.
The allure of eternal life has been pulling at the human mind since we first began to contemplate our existence. But once you realize your true nature, of what you are and where you have come from, you will realize that you are an eternal being that can never die.

Hey old man,
I’ve been starting to wonder if you were still alive or what. I’m glad to see your still writing!
Did you ever make it to Japan?
I’ve had some pretty interesting turn of events since the last time we spoke occur, but, it’s been so long I don’t think I’ve had the chance to share them with you.
I had a good chat with Holly the other night. Although I haven’t made it down to Chaing Mai yet, it is still in the plans. Some good stuff is in the works already. As soon as the holidays are over, I’m finally, yes finally, putting in for my passport, and hopefully it won’t be a problem.
Anyhow my friend, it’s like 4 am over here and I was thinking about you, so I thought I would seek out your blog to see what’s been going on, and am glad to find your still writing!
It’s great and interesting as always.
Cheers and take care Charlie
