Digital Photography
Photography is a fairly recent obsession of mine, although I do not have a very good camera in which to take pictures, I love the process of taking pictures nonetheless. The camera I use at this moment is the Sony Cybershot 2.1 Megapixels. It is a fairly old camera but has been sufficient for our family’s needs. The photo above was taken by that very camera when we went on vacation to Arkansas. It was a spontaneous picture as we were driving down the road.
I would like to learn more about digital photography such as composition and such to transform myself from a beginner to a novice at least. I am very lucky to be moving to Hokkaido, Japan soon where there will be opportunities to take magnificent photographs. I would like to have a better camera for this opportunity. I have been doing some research on the Internet as to what camera I should get, and I think I have decided on the Canon Rebel XTi. This camera has received great reviews and is an SLR (single lens reflex) 10 megapixel camera. It is a good camera to grow into and takes remarkable photographs.
My goal is to sell some pictures on the Internet on sites such as I-Stock Photo.com and similar other sites. I would also like to attend a digital photography class to develop my skills a bit more. One of my favorite places to look at photography is Flickr.com. I can spend hours there looking at other peoples photos. It is amazing how pictures create an emotion in us, or a longing to be there, and to experience first hand what the photographer was seeing at the time of the photograph. Hopefully I will be able to spark those emotions in others from some of my photographs.
I would love to hear from others who might have the Canon Rebel XTi, and let me know what you think of it. Until next time take care my friends.

Hello Charles Hamel!
That camera looks really nice.
The only question I have is; Can it use regular batteries that you can buy anywhere, or do you need a special rechargable battery to make the thing work?
If you are out in the middle of nowhere and your battery dies, you can’t take any more photos.
UNLESSS, you have a pocketful of regular batteries, that you can buy anywhere and use at any time.
