The Poisoning of a Nation

I came across some very frightening studies on food and water additives on YouTube that I thought people needed to know. If I can just inform one person I feel like I have made a difference. First let me start off by giving you some facts on health issues.

Global cancer rates are expected to increase 50 percent by the year 2020, according to the latest report from the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), a branch of the World Health Organization (WHO). The 351-page study, titled World Cancer Report, begins by explaining that 10 million people developed malignant tumors and 6.2 million died from the disease in the year 2000.

Cancer was responsible for 12 percent of the nearly 56 million deaths worldwide from all causes in 2000. In industrialized countries more than one in four people will die from the disease, a rate more than twice as high as developing countries. Over 22 million people in the world were treated for cancer in 2000, representing an increase of approximately 19 percent in incidence (cases) and 18 percent in mortality since 1990.

My question is; If we are advancing in technology in the medical field by leaps and bounds, why is the rate of cancer increasing? Some may say it is because of the the Western lifestyle characterized by a highly caloric diet, rich in fat, refined carbohydrates and animal protein, combined with low physical activity, resulting in an overall energy imbalance. It is associated with a multitude of disease conditions, including obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, arterial hypertension and cancer.

In our rat race society, gone are the days of eating fresh fruits and vegetables out of our home gardens and they have been replaced by pre packaged and fast foods containing ingredients that are un-pronounceable. The rates of cancer are increasing at a tremendous pace in the industrialized nations compared to the developing countries.

One study that shocked me was on the artificial sweetener aspartame. It is found in diet sodas and other various diet products, and the main ingredient in Equal and Nutra Sweet. If you are consuming products with aspartame in them I implore you to watch this set of 9 videos and I think you will change your mind on consuming these products.

Another frightening study I read about is the Fluoridation of our water sources and in our toothpaste. Did you know that 68% of Americas water sources have Fluoride added to it? Why? Is pure water not good enough? It was good enough for our fore fathers who had no where near the cancer rates that we have today.

England totally refused to have their water supplies fluoridated because of the health scares. Did you know that Fluoride is a by-product of manufacturing aluminum? It is a Hazardous chemical, that must be disposed of in a hazardous waste manner. Although in our infinite wisdom, we thought it was a good idea to add it to our water supply. Watch this video on Fluoride.

Wake up America and start informing yourself’s of what you are putting into your bodies. Do your own research and don’t listen to what others are saying. You are responsible for your own health and well being.

So far, USA print and broadcast media are deaf, blind, and dumb, regarding recent major bans of aspartame and MSG in the UK and EU.

The EU Parliament voted July 12 to ban artificial sweeteners in newly born and infant foods.

On May 15 four huge UK supermarket chains announced bans of aspartame and MSG, food dyes, and many additives to protect kids from ADHD — Sainsbury, Tesco, Marks & Spencer, and ASDA, a unit of WalMart.

May 31: Coca-Cola and the much larger Cargill Inc., after years of secret development, with 24 patents, will soon sell rebiana (stevia) in drinks and food in the many nations where it is approved as a sweetener — for decades a major sweetener in Japan, China , Korea, Taiwan , Thailand, Malasia, Saint Kitts, Nevis, Brazil, Peru, Paraguay, Uruguay, and Israel, and an approved supplement in USA, Australia, and Canada, according to Wikipedia.

Dark wines and liquors, as well as aspartame,
    provide similar levels of methanol,
above 120 mg daily, for long-term heavy users,
    2 L daily, about 6 cans.

Within hours, methanol is inevitably largely turned into formaldehyde,
and thence largely into formic acid — the major causes
of the dreaded symptoms of “next morning” hangover.

Fully 11% of aspartame is methanol — 1,120 mg aspartame
    in 2 L diet soda,
almost six 12-oz cans, gives 123 mg methanol (wood alcohol).
If 30% of the methanol is turned into formaldehyde,
the amount of formaldehyde, 37 mg, is 18.5 times the
USA EPA limit for daily formaldehyde in drinking water,
2.0 mg in 2 L average daily drinking water.

Thank you so much Rich for the volumes of information on this subject!

Hopefully a few people will wake up to the dangers of these so called food additives.
