Remodeling
As some of my readers know, I will be moving to Japan around June of this year. We are moving to Hokkaido Japan to be exact, which is the farthest Island North. The weather is similar to the Northern US and Canada, so I am looking at snow on the ground 6-7 months of the year and freezing temps for about 5 months of the year. I am very excited about the move and a bit nervous at the same time. Some worries of mine are basically for my sons, the littlest one will not have a problem being just 4 years old, but the 7 year old will have some adjustment to deal with.
We have been preparing our home to be sold, and that involves remodeling. Now I am by far no handy man, but having said that I feel like I have been doing a pretty good job of taking care of things around the house that needed to be done. For instance I have ripped a vinyl floor out of our master bathroom, removed a toilet and sink, replaced the sink and re-tiled the bathroom floor, and it looks pretty good if I say so myself.
Other things we have on our plate is replacing some lights, I really like the way Track Lighting looks, but we haven’t totally decided yet. In our kitchen I have a fluorescent light fixture, the ones with the long bulbs that my wife wants to change out. I am debating whether to attempt this change for fear of opening up a can of worms. We have been shopping around for kitchen lighting on the web and have decided on Premier Lighting.
Premier Lighting has a wide selection of various types of lighting to suit almost any tastes, including my wifes, which is not an easy job. It really is amazing that such small changes can make such a big difference in the overall appearance of a house. Hopefully the renovations that we are doing will help to bring a larger price for the house. We are planning on putting it on the market within the next couple of weeks. Houses in my neighborhood are taking about 3 months to sell.
Still I have lots to do and it can be stressful at times, but I am sure everything will work out in the end, it has to, because thats the way I am thinking. Until next time take care.
