South Carolina
My father lives in Lexington South Carolina and we usually visit in the summertime. Last year we had a great time visiting , I really enjoyed going to Columbia and seeing the history related to the civil war. The capital building still has pock marks in it from cannonballs.
All of the restored colonial homes were amazing along the Columbia Riverbanks region. One of our most favorite places to go when we are there is Myrtle Beach. Myrtle Beach is so much nicer than the beach near us in Galveston, mainly much more clean. There is 60 miles of beaches to enjoy which offer swimming and para-sailing to name a couple.
The nightlife is happening also with the Carolina Opry and Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede Dinner and Show if you are in to Southern Country Music, they also have a House of Blues for you rock/blues fans. The shopping is great with malls and specialty shops, and the dining can’t be beat.
Normally when we go we stay at my dad’s house in Lexington, but when we head out to Columbia or Myrtle Beach we usually share a vacation rental. Vacation rentals are much better in my opinion than hotels. You got more room and groups can share the cost. Myrtle Beach vacation rentals has a wide variety and different prices to choose from.
If you have never been to Myrtle Beach or South Carolina in general I highly recommend that you put it on your list of vacation spots to visit.
