Football
It’s almost Super Sunday, the day where dad invites his friends over for some football, beer, and camaraderie. It’s the one day where non-football fans will stop what their doing and watch the first and only football game of the year. Whether it be for the commercials or for the half-time event people are drawn to the Super Bowl.
This year the Super bowl will be played at Dolphin stadium in south Florida. It will be the Indianapolis Colts VS the Chicago Bears in a history making Super Bowl XLI (41). The reason I say this game will be history making is because it will be the first time that two teams with black coaches have made it. Congratulations to Lovie Smith and Tony Dungy.
Now for those of you who are watching the super bowl for the entertainment lineup you have a big treat in store. This year starting the game off will be Billy Joel singing the National Anthem. For the half-time show this year the purple one Prince will be headlining. Also in the entertainment category for many are the great commercials that are shown throughout the super bowl, just a few of the companies that have spots this year Coca Cola will be returning this year for the first time in a decade with two first half slots, one ad is called videogame and can be viewed at Coca Cola.com. Doritos create your own ad winner will be shown, Emerald nuts, and Budweiser to name a few.
Now as I have said in the past, I am more of a college football fan than pro. All of the big money in pro sports in my opinion takes away from the real love of the game, but having said that I will be watching the Super Bowl for all of the fanfare. For all of you hardcore fans that eat sleep and breathe football there is a great football message board at footballboards.com. The site is a forum where members can discuss their love of the game Football. The forum is divided up in AFC and NFC north, south, east and west, and also has a college section where you can discuss ACC, Big 12, Big East, Big Ten, Pac-10, and SEC. There are also sections for you fantasy football fans. It is well laid out and has a big user base.
